This policy explains what personal information Amity Charitable Trust ("the Trust", "we") collects through www.amityindia.org, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We collect only what we need to receive, acknowledge and account for donations, and we never sell personal information.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we do not receive your Google password.
  • Donation details: the amount, date, the drive you gave to, the payment reference (UTR) you give us, and any proof of payment you upload.
  • Tax details: your PAN and address, if you give them, so that we can issue a receipt for deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act and report the donation as the law requires.
  • Contact details: a phone number or address, if you choose to give one.
  • Technical data: cookies needed to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) used for security.

Why we use it

  • To record, verify and acknowledge your donation, and to show you your giving history.
  • To issue donation receipts and 80G certificates, and to meet our reporting obligations to the Income Tax Department.
  • To keep our accounts, as a registered charitable trust must.
  • To answer your questions and, where you have asked us to, tell you about the drives you support.

Who we share it with

We share donor information only where the law requires it (for example, the Income Tax Department for donations claimed under Section 80G) and with the service providers that run this website for us. The website and its database are hosted on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never publish donors' personal details on the website.

Information about the people our drives help is kept private. Public drive pages carry only the appeal written for donors, never the beneficiary's identity or medical details.

How long we keep it

We keep donation and tax records for as long as Indian tax and trust law requires us to. Other information is kept only while your account is active or while we need it for the purposes above.

How we protect it

The website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to donor records is limited to authorised Trust staff, and backups are stored securely in India.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, except where the law requires us to keep it (such as records of tax-deductible donations). You can also withdraw your consent, for example by closing your account. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
